Who I Am
My name is Desiree. I’m a Junior Hybrid UX/UI Designer and Front-End Developer, gamer, and tech-support specialist based in Calgary, Alberta. I built RastaAsian Sanctuary because I know what it feels like to be overwhelmed, dismissed, or rushed when you’re just trying to learn or get help. This business is my way of creating the kind of support I always wished existed: patient, honest, accessible, and judgment-free.
RastaAsian Sanctuary started from something simple. I’ve always been the person people come to when they feel overwhelmed, confused, or stuck with tech or design. I learned tech, design, and problem solving by doing it on my own. Not because it was easy, but because I had to figure things out when no one else could help. Over time, that turned into a strength. I became patient, clear, and good at breaking things down in a way that makes people feel safe instead of embarrassed.
I know what it feels like to need help without wanting to be judged. I know what it feels like to be neurodivergent in a world that expects you to keep up with things that were never designed for your brain. I know what it feels like to be overwhelmed by tech that seems simple to everyone else.
I built this Sanctuary as a place where people can breathe. A place where learning feels calm. A place where design feels personal. A place where tech support feels human. I don’t rush people. I don’t talk down to them. I don’t make them feel like they should already know the answer. I meet them where they are and help them move forward with clarity and confidence.
RastaAsian Sanctuary is more than a service. It’s a safe place for small businesses, overwhelmed clients, and neurodivergent folks who want support that feels gentle, honest, and real. I translate tech into plain language. I design with intention. I build websites that reflect the person behind the brand. I help people feel capable again.
This Sanctuary is my way of giving others what I needed for a long time. A place where you can show up exactly as you are and still feel supported. A place where your story matters. A place where you don’t have to pretend.
